Welcome to Year 2 – Rockingham Class!

We are so excited to welcome you and your child to Year 2 at Ryhall CE Academy! This is a wonderful year of learning, growth, and discovery, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Our Learning Journey

Year 2 is a fantastic time as children build on their skills and develop greater independence in their learning. We explore a wide range of exciting topics across the curriculum, helping children to develop curiosity, resilience, and a love for learning. Our classroom is a happy and supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to do their best and shine!

Reading - RWI reading books and recommended reads are changed on Mondays, Purple, Gold level and accelerated reading books are changed as and when the children finish the book.

PE Days

We love to stay active in Year 2! Our PE lessons take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, so please ensure your child comes to school in their PE kit on these days. This helps them to move freely and get the most out of our fun and engaging sessions.

PPA and ECT Time

Mrs Eve teaches every day of the week, with Mrs. Want taking the class on Thursday am and Friday pm to cover planning, preparation, and assessment (PPA) time, as well as Early Career Teacher (ECT) time.
