Head's Welcome
Welcome to Ryhall Church of England Academy
‘My school is special because it makes me feel like my voice is heard and has worth.’
Ofsted, February 2023
On behalf of the staff, children, and governors, thank you for taking the time to visit our site. We are very proud of our school – a community that cares deeply about developing our children to be the best that they can be. Through our website, we aim to provide you with information about the school and our locality. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact us. Visits, tours, enquiries, and conversations are always welcome, where you will be able to see our school in action.
As you can see from our main page, our vision in action is:
"Living life in all its fullness, making memories and building futures."
At Ryhall CE Academy, we are committed to developing the whole child—emotionally, intellectually, physically, academically, and spiritually. We have a family-feel school, with talented staff, and an emphasis on developing each child’s skills, talents, and confidence. Our highly professional staff team works hard to create lifelong experiences and memories, so that when children leave us, they are well-prepared for secondary school and carry fond memories of their primary years.
Our Ethos and Values
We are guided by our Christian values of Compassion, Friendship, Hope, Respect, Perseverance, Trust, together with the character value of Resilience. Children describe Ryhall CE Academy as their “Friend Ship,” a place where everyone is respected and valued for their individuality.
We live by our school ethos of:
-
Be Ready – Prepared to learn and embrace challenges
-
Be Respectful – Valuing themselves and others
-
Be Safe – Contributing to a secure and supportive environment
These principles, alongside our commitment to children’s rights and responsibilities, create a nurturing space where pupils can grow academically, socially, and spiritually.
Recognition of Our Work
Our recent SIAMS inspection (Nov. 2024) highlighted:
“A sense of love and care for one another permeates throughout the school. Inspired by the vision, leaders have created a highly effective ethos. This is rooted in the creation of positive relationships. Pupils talk of the care adults take to listen and help them.”
Our Ofsted report (February 2023) stated:
“Pupils feel safe and happy at Ryhall CE Academy. They are proud of their school and achieve well, making good progress from their starting points.”
We were graded as Good in all areas in the 2023 Ofsted inspection and have recently had a very successful SIAMS inspection in November 2024.
Our School and Community
We have 197 children on roll, making us small enough to know your child really well, yet large enough to participate in events that help build character. Set in the beautiful village of Ryhall, our school boasts extensive outdoor areas, including a wildlife garden with a bird-watching observatory, mini-beast hotels, reflection spaces, a trim-trail, games pitch, outdoor stage, and vegetable gardens. Our local church, St. John’s, and the Ryhall Methodist Church, support us with assemblies, collective worship, and other important events.
We value the strong support of our parents, including our fantastic Friends of Ryhall Academy (FORA). We pride ourselves on high standards of teaching, learning, pupil welfare, behaviour, and achievement. Children enjoy coming to school, and we maintain excellent attendance rates.
Thank you for visiting our site. We look forward to welcoming you to Ryhall CE Academy and supporting every child to flourish, feel safe, and enjoy the exciting journey of learning and discovery.
Best wishes,
Mr A. Reed
